Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson have signed on to star in Tinsel Town, a new festive comedy backed by Sky and Future Artists Entertainment. The Christmas feature is now filming across locations in the North of England, with studio work underway at Versa Studios in Leeds.

The film centres on Bradley Mack, portrayed by Sutherland, a self-absorbed Hollywood action hero whose career abruptly collapses after his lucrative franchise is shelved. With his reputation faltering and his future uncertain, Bradley looks to Britain for reinvention, hoping a turn on the West End might restore his credibility. Instead, he finds himself marooned in a wintry rural town and reluctantly cast in a decidedly amateur local production of Cinderella.

What follows is a culture clash played for comedy, as Bradley struggles to adapt to small-town life and a rehearsal room filled with unconventional personalities. Amid the disorder, he crosses paths with Jill, a blunt, no-nonsense choreographer played by Wilson, whose grounded approach and refusal to indulge his ego begin to challenge his assumptions about success, fame and fulfilment. The project gradually transforms from an apparent professional embarrassment into a story of personal renewal, unexpected connection and seasonal goodwill.

Tinsel Town is directed by Chris Foggin (Bank of Dave), working from a script by Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown and Piers Ashworth, with additional material from Jake Brunger. The film is produced by Matt Williams and Pascal Degove for Future Artists Entertainment, while executive producers include Julia Stuart, Laura Grange, Piers Tempest and Martin Owen.

Julia Stuart, Director of Original Film at Sky, described the film as a celebratory and uplifting addition to the broadcaster’s festive slate, highlighting its warmth, humour and broad audience appeal.

Matt Williams said the production continues Future Artists Entertainment’s collaboration with Sky and reflects a commitment to pairing internationally recognised talent with British-led creative teams. He added that the film aims to deliver a modern Christmas comedy with enduring appeal.

Sutherland said he was pleased to be returning to work in the UK and praised the ensemble cast and creative team, while Wilson noted her enthusiasm for British Christmas films, joking about the novelty of embracing winter festivities rather than celebrating the season in the Australian summer.

Tinsel Town is slated for release on Sky Cinema at Christmas 2025.
